the majority of times extending the

range on your jumper

isn't about getting stronger it's about

maximizing the energy transfer from your

toes

up through your release so this is a

simple but extremely effective set of

just four drills that will really help

you with that

let's check them out

so we're starting off with these close

soft touch jumpers with a pound

the key here is making sure everything

is synchronized

notice how as the ball goes down the

legs also go down and load up

and as the ball goes up your jump is

going up

[Music]

so the ball never stops here if it comes

to a pause like this

or if the ball is going up with the legs

going down there's a break in that

energy transfer we're going for three

makes with the left hand pound three

mixed with the right hand pound

at each spot now we're going with

progressive no jump shooting

starting right under the basket we're

just shooting without leaving the ground

after making two move back and keep

progressing out

so this is really testing the ability to

transfer energy and develop power

optimally

i suggest moving back until it feels

like it's simply out of your range

now we're going with overhead jumpers

where we're pulling the ball down to our

set point

and back up into it you'll really feel

this is a challenge to your ability to

transfer energy

now you'll start a little lower right

above eye level and dropping into it

again you'll most likely be short on

some of these but when we get good at

these it'll really help

optimize our ability to transfer energy

make five of both of those then we're

just making

five normal jumpers looking to apply

this ability

finally we'll go off the dribble with

these skipped jumpers

notice how we're going up down up

down and then as we get into the jumper

we emphasize that smooth

down up motion

if you do this right you'll really feel

yourself elevating and getting some

power into your jumper here

we'll make six to eight with each hand

here

i know it's not a full workout but if

you apply these at the beginning of any

shooting workout

i promise you you'll notice results

quickly thanks for tuning in hope you

guys learned something go try it out

and make sure to follow me on instagram

at by any means basketball for a lot

[Music]
